Worship
Christ the Servant has been ministering to the people of Louisville and the surrounding towns since 1985. We are a large community of people that have come together from different places and mindsets to be united in Jesus Christ and his teaching. Our formal mission statement is to “Proclaim, celebrate and live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the glory of God”. But on the whole you’ll probably see that we’re not a very formal group – we just try to share God’s love and hope with each other through our words and actions. We sing, pray and worship together. We enjoy each others company; we share our joys and sorrows, and we try to hear the Spirit’s call when we relate to the world around us, through patience, love and tolerance.
Nursery available during Sunday worship.
“Stir-Up” an Experience! – Baking Communion Bread
Our lives of faith happen not just at church but every day and in every place. Faith is about our homes and what we do beyond the walls of our church building.
To celebrate being the Body of Christ together, we invite all households (singles, couples, families, members, visitors) to take part in baking our communion bread for weekly worship. More than simply the physical task of baking bread, it’s an opportunity to have faith conversations in our homes: an integrated time of measuring, mixing, reading, praying, and celebrating the Body of Christ.
This tasty and easy recipe comes from Luther Seminary and is used by congregations across the country, including here at CTS. You may sign up for one weekend or as many as you would like. The devotional recipe and detailed instructions can be found when you follow this link – “Stir-Up” an Experience! – Baking Communion Bread.
This recipe yields 8 loaves and all will be used for one full weekend of worship at CTS: Saturday at 5:30, and Sunday at 8:00 and 10:30.
When dropping off the bread, please:
- bring to the church by 5:00 p.m. on Saturday of the weekend you signed up for
- seal, date, and clearly mark “Communion Bread”
- place in the right-hand refrigerator in the kitchen
Thank you for being a part of this community and sharing in this bread and Body that will have been baked with love, prayed over, and come from our own kitchens where its creation can deepen our faith.
