Altar Guild

We are the people behind the scenes who make sure the altar is ready for worship each week.  Working with the oversight of the Worship committee we set up communion every week, keep the candles filled with oil, change the paraments according to the season and prepare the font for baptisms.

Work is divided among many volunteers, each of whom is scheduled for one or two months a year, with one team covering the early service, and another covering the late.  The job can be done solo, or a whole family can participate.  Like magical elves or helpful brownies who work invisibly, we do all the set-up and clean-up before, between or after services.  This makes it an ideal volunteer opportunity for those who shun the spotlight.
