CTS PLAYGROUND NEWS!!

The Playground will be ready to be enjoyed in June! We need lots of hands, sweat and food to make it happen! Join the team! Please know that obviously weather is a factor on whether or not we will be able to follow this schedule. You will be contacted if there’s a change in plans.

CTS Playground Build Days on 5/5 and 5/12 are cancelled - Our crew that was laying the 1st layer of the cement block wall around the playground was so efficient that they are almost done. They just kept going and going, higher and higher. Thank you to Steve Johnston, Greg Gapter, Steve Kinz, Charlie Ealy, Mark Rohm, Pete & Josh Behrens. It will take them only a little bit of time to put the top cap blocks on. So, we don’t need to have work days on 5/5 and 5/12.

We absolutely will still need people to help on 6/2 for our Installation/Community Build Day. This will be a super fun day to see it all come together! If you haven’t signed up and want to help, please contact Jana Zimmerman at Jnoelz@gmail.com.

Saturday, June 2nd – WOOHOO – Installation of the Playground/Community Build Day – 8:00am – 5:00pm

2 shifts that day – 8:00-12:00 (includes lunch at 11:30) and 11:30-5:00 (includes lunch at 11:30). It’s ok if you can come for just part of a shift. A supervisor from the Playground Equipment Company Staff will be present to lead this process.
Tasks: dig holes; preassemble equipment; set decks and posts; mix concrete and install the equipment.
Volunteers have to be 14 years or older as required by the Playground Equipment Company. Kids under 14 years will not be allowed on our worksite. However, we will provide babysitting. Please let us know if you would like to take advantage of the babysitting. We also need volunteers to help provide snacks and lunch as well as babysit the work crew’s children.

Saturday, June 9th – Work Day – 8:00am – 12:00pm

We will add the pea gravel to the playground and level it out.
Children can play around on the grass outside the playground if parents are comfortable with that. Trucks will be present to help deliver the pea gravel. Kids will not be able to be on the playground until we finish the leveling and deem it safe

Christ the Servant Lutheran Church seeks a Christ-centered individual to work with children, ages birth through 5th grade, and their families. Our Director will work closely with parents, the Pastor, the Youth Director, staff, and a Children’s Ministries Committee to carry out the Children’s and Family Ministries Vision. We see the Director as an essential member of the ministries team, whose presence on Sundays is important to children and families. Additionally, the Director is responsible for Sunday School, Faith Milestones, and Vacation Bible School. This is a part-time position (~15/hours per week).
